The atmosphere during the tour was very relaxed and our tour guide wanted to make it fun and funny. I was with my friends from New Zealand and I felt that the our guide was little bit too relaxed about the facts and information about the country and the town of Tallinn. The tour should have been more informative! The restaurant recommendation Irish pub was very strange for the people who were in Tallinn only for one day.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but his style was sometimes quite irritable - people really like to get to know about the places where they travel! The tour guide was a bit nervous, you could tell that a lot from his body language. The tour would be better in the dark. Maybe shift the times in summer to later hours. There was no hot chocolate at the end: He gave us a great insight into the history of Estonia and the character of the Estonian people.
Raimo had the knack of adding his quirky humour to his stories and managed to bridge the age gap between himself and our elderly selves. I would have liked a little more historical depth to the architects and the styles of houses and their connection to Finnish architecture. I recommend this tour. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with a wealth of historical, cultural, and architectural information. Highly recommend her and this tour group.
We also had a wonderful guide Nils and beautiful weather! We had 10 people in our group and our family ranged in age from 9 to He kept us all entertained and answered all our our questions.. I recommend taking this tour. This tour provided all of that and more and i would recommend this tour to anyone who is fortunate enough to visit Tallinn. The guide was informative and funny with numerous stories to share.
Although it was his first tour, our guide was really fantastic. My teen daughters really loved him sorry I forget his name, but I really want to give him highest mark. He had excellent knowledge about Estonian history too. She met us at the ship and was very informative about the city of Tallinn. It was an enriching experience and we were so glad we hired such a competent guide!
We were extremely lucky to have Miriam as our guide. She was knowledgeable about local history and mixed facts with interesting anecdotes and folk lore. Her English language skills were exceptional. Great stories and legends, very good command of english language. During the tour we had several stops and we were given information about history, culture, events, interesting stories were told. The programme presented a balanced view about everything.
We enjoyed a sense of humor of our guide Mirjam. We do recommend her! Gave us a good start for the rest of our day. Jedesmal gab es was leckeres zu Essen. Nach der zweiten station waren wir schon total satt. Vielen Dank auch nochmal an unseren Guide Nils. Took us to 6 different places. We had a wide variety of Estonia food. From pastries and desserts to appetizers to main meals it was all wonderful. She was informative witty and a delight. In the end we waddled out of the last restaurant unable to have one more mouthful.
So the amount of food is more than adequate. The Highlight for me was the Sprat with quail eggs. For my wife it was the dumplings. Overall if you want good food with great value this is the tour for you. Such a brilliant tour with best hot chocolate at the end. This time we wanted to try something different and although it was -5C and snowy, we took the possibility to go on 2-hour guided walking tour. And boy what a tour it was - Heli, our guide brought the history alive with great stories and anecdotes.
We learned more about our own country too as we now understood what effect Finland has had on Estonias hard battle of independence. Great tour - well worth the time and money: Great combination of ghosts, legends, history and life of today - just as we wished. And in the end of the tour nice cup of warm tea with beautiful view of the city, thank you!
I had a whale of time. She is equally funny and knowledged! I recomment this tour to everyone who thinks about viditing tallinn. She told us stories about Tallinn we had never heard before. I can say this was such a good idea to book this tour. You will not regret a second of it. We even did the tour in freezing cold weather and enjoyed it immensely! Worth every penny and then some! She was fun and friendly even in the shitty weather. She answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable.
Thank you for a great tour. We loved Estonia and will recommend the tour to our friends! The free walking tour was also a hard act to follow but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We did not find the content very stimulating and its delivery was lacking. We were expecting a 2 hour tour so thought the 1 hour 10 minute one we actually had for 15 euros each was expensive.
Although it was cold and dark, it really added to the ghost tour. Liine was our guide and she was so great - entertaining, easy to understand, really engaging and passionate. She was very funny and informative, and gave us a great walk around old town, providing tons of information and some interesting stories about the city and its history, as well as providing some recommendations.
Our tour guide, Siim was fantastic!!! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely welcome! George, our tour guide was so enthusiastic about his country and its fascinating but sad history. The Old Town area of Tallinn is beautiful, very medieval. We learned so much from him, really had no knowledge of Estonia before this tour. It is a walking tour, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking cobblestone streets. I would highly recommend this tour, we enjoyed it very much.
We learned a perfect mix of culture, history, and architecture. She gave great advice for places to continue exploring and answered all of our questions. I would recommend it as a first tour of the area to start your trip because she gave so much useful and interesting historical background for understanding the layout and history of the city.
Our guide that day was Siim. Siim patiently waited for us at the exit gate. Siim was very knowledgeable about his town. He knows a lot of history of Tallinn. The experience was amazing as well as the meal. We enjoyed talking with Siim. We did pay to extend our tour, we were having such a great time!
We could not stop talking about our day in Tallinn. You get to see very different places, from a small bakery to hipster places and everything in between. Her English is amazing. Learnt a lot about this lovely city, country and people. Would highly recommend doing this tour. Excellent tour with excellent guide. Professional, well informed and enthusiastic. We enjoyed every minute of it and made us forget the rain. Her friendly manner was only matched by her historical knowledge.
Our guide, Ariel, was very informative, but also very pleasant. I highly recommend the tour, even at a higher price. We learned a lot, our guide Martin is very knowledgeable and friendly. He made the town and its history really interesting and informative with a few chuckles thrown in. We enjoyed it very much, Helen managed to tell us a lot of the city and its history in a very fascinating way.
We discovered hidden spots, heard scary stories - will never want to walk around the old town in the middle of the night! It was indeed a great tour and Helen was super kind and professional! Half guide, half stand-up comedian, Mart showed us the best parts of the city centre while he nurtured our brains with both historical and cultural facts, loud and clear despite the fact that we were a sizeable bunch. Not trying to say that the other guides are not good, but look out for Mart when you visit Tallinn: We loved seeing the sights while laughing about the dry sense of humour of Estonians and the presidents shenanigans.
Mart was very entertaining and had a good sense of humour! She was very friendly, and knowledgable about the city giving us detailed explanations to our questions. Also, we booked the tour very last minute and she went out of her way to accommodate us which we really appreciated. The tour was fantastic mix of laughter, acting, facts and figures. HELI is hugely entertaining, interacts with the audience in a great manner and passes on more information to you than you would believe is possible in one hour.
Not just the years and numbers, but speckled with lots of anecdotes and light humour. Best tour I we! Wish she could be hired for Amsterdam Our Group was really impressed of her knowledge and the way she presented her hometown. We all enjoyed every second of her stories. What an amazing young lady! She gave us a fantastic history of Tallinn with some fun facts as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would recommend it to anyone wanting a comprehensive but not overwhelming tour of this wonderful city.
She was extremely knowledgeable on the history and made the experience very interesting. Very informative, good humor, friendly! Annile was by far the best of the 5 different tour guides we used in different countries. She was perky, personable, and very friendly. She was knowledgeable but did not go into boring detail. She gave a lot of insight on Estonia live, politics, culture-- including difficulties with living close to Russia.
The map and traveller tips were a bonus. He made Tallinn come alive for us - highly recommend you seek him out. Katrin was friendly and very engaging, and kept us fascinated with great stories and history. By far the best tour guide experience I have had while traveling in Europe! Total walk is about 2 miles in 2 hours and the time went by very quickly because Heli was captivating.
Our tour guide Liine was a fantastic storyteller and did a great job! It was great fun and very interesting to meet all the real ghosts of Tallinn old town special regards to the ghost in the Swedish embassy: What a great guide Marii was. She was proud of her city, very knowledgeable and amusing. Although we had been to Tallinn in we visited parts of the city on the walking tour we had not seen before.
Definitely worth doing this 2 hour walk if you visit this beautiful city. Very silent, clean and equipped with all we usually need. Next time we shall also stay here. It was in a great location with so many delicious restaurants nearby. The staff went above and beyond with a really helpful printout guide of how to reach tourist spots and recommendations for good restaurants.. Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, it was a great combination of hotel and vacation rental for a great price, highly recommended!!
The place itself was clean, tidy, and spacious. The hosts were really nice and helpful. They pointed out good places to eat, and provided a very good service. There were five of us, and we had plenty of space. Jakub is a hospitable host who could not possibly be more helpful. Very nice apartment and receptionist. We truly enjoyed our stay. The place was exactly as described in the text.
Very clean and tidy. Easy stroll along the river to the bridge and old town, convenient location. Lots of Czech restaurants within 5 min walking. Friendly and helpful staff. The apartment had all the modern comforts of home, it was spacious and immaculately kept. Management was waiting for us ,even at that hour of the morning ,to show us the apartment. Extremely helpful and friendly. We will come back and strongly recommend it. I have already recommended to several people.
Just the parking is problematic. Who needs a park place, when you are living in the city center! The hotel is next to a metro station. Very easy to access. The apartment is wonderful. Clean, modern and comfortable. The staff was really kind and very flexible in arrival and departure times. The location of the apartment is excellent. There is a small bakery and a mini market around the corner. I would recommend this apartment to anyone.
We had a wonderfull time and will miss the magic city of Praha. It was a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again in the future. You are a lovely person and I wish you and your family the best. Cristian srpen Nice place, excellent location family friendly we got baby bed without extracharge helpful staff! Great connections by tram only 50m away to all the sights and a bit of a walk 10mins to the metro. Our apartment was almost as new in a refurbished old building.
Very light with modern kitchen and two bathrooms. All the linen is provided and the kitchen is fitted with crockery and cutlery. Also has free Wifi in the apartment! Old Town Square is a 20 minuet walk away and there are many other sites only a short hop away on a tram. We had 3 kids under 5 and there were a few playgrounds around the place. One was on the island right near the apartments. It also has a nice restaurant called Zofin with a great outdoor dining area with a kids play area.
In summary, these apartments were great. There is a bit of noise on Fri nights from the bar crowd, but with double glazing it all seemed to go away. Thoroughly recommend this place. Will definitely go back again. The location was perfect - close to the river, the tram stops, a big Tesco store and a couple of nice restaurants, easy walk to the center, and still surprisingly quiet and peaceful at night time.
